Dark brown sugar can add a rich, sweet flavor to your beer with more residual impact than lighter varieties. You can use it to make Scottish and Irish Ales, Strong Ales and Barleywine, and Specialty Beers.
What it is:
This sugar is made by flavoring white sugar heavily with molasses to provide an intense flavor.
Dark brown sugar can be up to 5-10 percent of your fermentables.
Add dark brown sugar directly to the boiling wort.
