Dry Malt Extract (Dark)
What it does : | Use this extract to make dark-colored beers. Barley dry malt extract provides the base fermentable for your beer and eliminates the need for you to mash whole grains. For an all-extract recipe, the dry malt extract may comprise up to 100 percent of the fermentables by weight. However, for a partial or specialty-grain recipe, it provides up to about 80 percent of the fermentables, with the balance provided by base malts and specialty grains that add unique flavor, aroma, and color characteristics to the beer.
What it is: | This is a dry malt extract that is typically 30 Lovibond in color. It is made from the fermentable sugars that have been extracted from malted barley. The extract manufacturers produce wort on an industrial scale and then evaporate most of the moisture away, which results in a powdery fermentable product ready for use.

Preparation: | Dry malt extract comes in a powder form ready for you to use. Dry malt extract does not require pre-heating like its liquid counterpart. You add it directly to the brew pot for boiling into wort. |
